Meet the Artists

  • Born out of the desire for autonomy and to prove a point to himself, Kyle Wagoner (Dogjaw/Jorne/ a million other bands) decided to start a solo project in the year 2013.  The point he was trying to prove proved to be harder to prove than he thought, so it took until the year 2017 that he finally released a debut album he was happy with under the moniker " Aloner."  The project has gone through a variety of lineups over the years as Kyle has lived in a variety of states (West Virginia to Maryland to Pennsylvania) and is currently between band members.  That being said, Aloner released its third full length album Again And Again on July 30th of this year and Kyle is in the process of rounding up a new group of musicians to carry the project in a live setting.  If you like nerd rock and/or powerpop but think the songs with multiple verses and choruses are too long, Aloner may be for you.

  • Be Safe is a four piece "midwest" emo/indie band based out of Frostburg, Maryland, on Count Your Lucky Stars records. With a sound akin to 90s emo bands such as Karate or Codeine, the band stands out among their peers for playing a style that is oft overlooked. Lyrically poignant and sonically somber, their first album "Unwell" has received heaps of praise from publications such as Brooklyn Vegan and The Alternative, and has even landed on Brooklyn Vegan's "10 Best Emo Albums of 2024". With a handful of shows and a tour under their belt, the band has no intention of slowing down.

  • Combustion is a three piece punk band from Western Maryland, based out of Frostburg. Combining the relentless pummeling of D-Beat Hardcore with the furious intensity of power violence, they play a blend of fast and merciless hardcore that grinds the listener into a ball of mush. With politically and socially charged lyrics, three EPs, and a newly released full length album, they are taking no prisoners.

  • Defiant Brood is a four piece horror punk/death rock band from Frostburg, Maryland. Founded in 2017, Defiant Brood have made a place for themselves in the horror punk scene through their energetic live shows and their catchy, genre defying take on aggressive music.

Their new self-titled full length has vocalist Sarie Siren delving into lyrically themes atypical of the genre, pulling from personal experience and telling tales of her struggles with depression, suicidal ideation, alienation, and the struggle of being a female in a scene still so dominated by machismo nonsense, all with a pro-feminist slant.

With two full lengths and two EP’s under their belts and a tighter and more focused lineup than ever before, Defiant Brood has no interest in slowing down.

  • The world of rock music, driven by passion and powerful beats, has always been a haven for musicians aiming to leave a mark. Among the emerging gems, Four Thirty Four, a hard rock band from Central Virginia, stands out prominently. On May 30th, they released their exhilarating new single “High Roller,” and its ripples of success have been echoing across the music scene ever since.

What marked the enormity of this release was its immediate reception. “High Roller” not only became the #1 single added to radio stations in Secondary Markets, surpassing esteemed artists like Corey Taylor, Halestorm, and Pop Evil, but it also clinched the top spot in being added to Mediabase. For those uninitiated, Mediabase is an industry titan, monitoring radio airplay across 180 US and Canadian markets. It provides indispensable analytical tools, charts, and insights that shape the trends of the music world. So, for Four Thirty Four to dominate this space heralds their undeniable momentum in the industry.

By the week ending August 8th, 2023, “High Roller” further triumphed by landing at #26 on the SMR Top 50 Mainstream/Active Rock chart. This achievement is monumental, considering the vast ocean of talent it competes with.

Behind this masterful single is Stryker Records, with distribution managed by Ingrooves, a company under the Universal Music Group umbrella. And while it was launched on radio on May 30th, the world of music streaming platforms welcomed “High Roller” on June 9, 2023.

Diving into the origins of Four Thirty Four, the band came to life in 2019. Comprising Mike Vernon on vocals, Craig Coyner playing bass, Scott Jordan with his guitar, and Greg Baker on drums, the band’s ethos is evident: No fads. No gimmicks. No trends. Their grounded approach, combined with an innovative twist on music, bore fruit with their “Gold EP” and singles like “Red Eye.” Their music isn’t just recognized locally; it has found its way to international ears, particularly in the UK and Australia. This journey is enriched by stage performances, collaborations, and a management deal with industry leaders, Extreme Management Group (EMG).

It’s worth noting the incredible impact of artist manager Jason Schrick of EMG. His expertise and connections have been instrumental. Recently, he facilitated the band’s collaboration with the multi-platinum record producer, Malcolm Springer, at the renowned East Iris Studios. This partnership promises more stellar music from Four Thirty Four, showcasing their unique blend of talent, innovation, and dedication.

Speaking of dedication, the band members’ individual stories further illuminate their shared journey. Michael Lee Vernon, or Mikey V, the lead singer, and frontman, has traversed a path that spanned various genres, inspirations, and life experiences. His early days in Iowa, military service, and passion for music, all culminated in his current role with Four Thirty Four. On the other hand, Scott Jordan, the band’s guitar player, carries with him a rich tapestry of musical influences, from outlaw country to punk. His previous experience, partnerships, and continued evolution in the music scene, contribute immensely to the band’s unique sound.

Together, these artists, with their distinct paths and shared vision, promise their fans and the world of rock a wild, unforgettable ride. As “High Roller” soars through the charts, one thing is certain: Four Thirty Four is just getting started.
